about me

about me

When I was a kid, I could always be found hanging out in the lighting isle of the nearest hardware store, staring at the shapes and patterns of the shadows and seeing how they’d shift. Ever since then l've been trying to find new ways to break the mold and change the rules with new techniques.

I graduated with a B.S. in Visual Communications with a concentration in advertising from Syracuse University. During my time at the Newhouse School of Public Communications I had the opportunity to train under and work with several prolific photographers including (but not limited to) Gregory Heisler, Amy Toensing, and Hal Silverman. Particularly valuable to my own method is Professor Heisler’s portraiture, which continues to inspire my lighting practices and experiments.

My work in commercial photography has been showcased in several publications including Jerk and 20 Watts Magazine. Additionally, my photos from the Winter FISU World University Games have been featured in journalistic publications around the world. During my time as an undergraduate I had the privilege of being the Photo Director of Syracuse’s Fashion and Design Society (FADS) student organization..

I am most passionate about portrait and fashion photography, where I'm truly able to push my creativity. My work has been praised for its stylistic consistency across aesthetics and genres of photography. I find excitement in my own practices by elevating the mundane through experimentation with angles, irregular composition, and interdisciplinarity.

I hope to gain experience by assisting current industry photographers and be mentored in the field. Eventually, I hope to establish myself as a professional portrait photographer—though I’m still exploring what I’d like to specialize in.
